A root canal, also known as endodontic treatment, is a dental procedure performed to treat and save a severely decayed, infected, or damaged tooth. It involves the removal of the infected or injured pulp (soft tissue inside the tooth), cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, and then filling and sealing them to prevent further infection.
